LONGMONT — The idea behind one of Longmont’s newest businesses isn’t exactly an original, but the business is the first of its kind in Longmont.

Usually businesses geared toward beginner and intermediate painters are found in bigger cities, but patronizing such a business in Denver gave Linda Hahn and Kristen Bond the idea for Dabble Paint & Sip Studio.

 GALLOWAY TWP. — The Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA) is offering five free information sessions on home safety and fall prevention for older adults. The scheduled sessions are as follows:

• Feb. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Margate Community Pavilion, 101 S. Huntington Ave. Margate City.

• Feb. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hammonton Senior Center, 310 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton,.

Presented by Doug Schindler,  a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS), the session will provide information on how seniors can safely stay in their homes as they age. He will discuss common accidents in the home and their financial costs, while also focusing on low cost or no cost solutions to help keep seniors safe and accident free, especially in the area of fall prevention.

Schindler is EPA Certified in Lead-Based Renovation, Repair and Painting and has a Master of Science degree from NJIT.
